When I published my first blog post, I prayed, “Lord, use this as you will.” If God wanted to use what I wrote to encourage even just one person, I was confident that He would bring them here to this space. To receive my first “like” was cool! Then, I received my first comment, real feedback on a post I had written. What a nice feeling! Soon people would continue to come back, and I would pay them a visit as well. And this was my introduction into what some would call “The WordPress Family”.
Isn’t it nice that there is an award going around that recognizes this type of virtual community? Geraldine from The Valor Society was so kind to nominate me for The WordPress Family Award. She blogs about her life and faith. It is obvious from her writings that she loves her Savior, Jesus Christ. It is an honor to receive this nomination from her. Thank you, Geraldine!
What makes a neighborhood nice is not necessarily the houses or the landscaping; it’s the people and the conversations they have with one another. So for our little neighborhood, who doesn’t love receiving a few comments and having conversations about all the things that we write about? Fellow blogger, Jess from Waiting on a Word had the fun idea of passing this award on to her top commenters. I hope she doesn’t mind that I borrow her idea :-). It’s a great way to recognize those who, not only have come back for multiple visits, but have “talked” with me about the things I have shared on this blog.
Here are my nominees and top 10 commenters.
Morning Story and Dilbert
Our Adoption Voyage
His Eye is on This Sparrow
Knitting with Heart
One Starving Activist
Peace of My Heart
If you choose to pass on this award, here are the rules:
1. Display the award logo on your blog.
2. Link back to the person who nominated you.
3. Nominate 10 others you see as having an impact on your WordPress experience and family.
4. Let your 10 Family members know you have awarded them.
5. That is it. Just please pick 10 people that have taken you as a friend, and spread the love.
I know there are many others, not on the above list, who have taken the time to read, like, and comment on this blog. With all my heart, I thank you for joining me in this journey. God has answered and exceeded my prayers. Grace and peace to you!
