I’ve never met a mom who doesn’t get stressed out occasionally. I mean let’s face it … outside the walls of our home, we will make our best effort to look somewhat composed. But if my walls could speak, they would give you endless stories of how this mother of four doesn’t always have all her lesson plans prepared, gets weary with all the duties of keeping the home, scolds her children, questions her sanity for even deciding to homeschool, and wonders if what she does has any worth at all.
If your own walls can tell similar stories, mother or not, join with me in clinging to these encouraging words from the Bible.
“For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.” (Hebrew 6:10)
“Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God.” (2 Corinthians 3:5)
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians15:58)
